The South Carolina Police K9 Association was formed in 2007. Since then we have been recognized by the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy in certifying Police K9 teams. Our association is comprised of multiple agencies (Police/ Sheriff/ Corrections); with our current member roster listed below. Our association certifies dual purpose and single purpose K9's in apprehension, obedience, drug detection, bomb detection, tracking, building clearing, and patrol work. We strive to lead the K9 industry with tough standards; therefore, producing top performing police K9's. We host a Police K9 seminar once a year, and during this seminar we have multiple Police/ Sheriff/ Correction K9 agencies attend, along with top tier K9 trainers, for a week of scenario-based training. We have found it to be very beneficial for K9 teams to experience multiple paths to training with their K9 partners; for just like humans our K9 partners learn differently. This seminar is open to every member of our association and is something every member looks forward to every coming year. Our association welcomes any Police/ Sheriff K9 unit to join our association. Whether your K9 unit is comprised of one dog team or twenty dog teams. If interested in joining our association please download the application, complete the application, and return it by mail to the address stated.
